Don't get too jealous, but I was very cool in high school. Honours art, photography club at lunch, and drama geek all rolled into one, everyone wanted to be me! I kid, obviously, but I knew what I liked, and it was creating. The love of creating lead me to get a degree in Visual Communications, which is just a fancy way of saying I studied graphic design and marketing.
After I finished school, I worked as a designer at a TV station and at a couple small companies. Eventually, I accomplished my goal of getting a job at a Marketing Agency. I started designing for them 2 days a week and eventually worked my way up to being a full-time designer and finally to the role of Creative Director. My years at unINK Marketing have been packed with branding and website work for business of all sizes and setups, from solo-entrepreneurs to multi-national companies.
Not too long ago, I ended up designing a website for my Mortgage Broker, she needed an affordable, knowledgeable website designer and I needed money for condo renovations. After that, I randomly ended up designing a website for someone I met on Twitter. I realized there were people with great business I could work with but the traditional design model didn't work for them. They didn't want to wait weeks or months for their website to be built and I could help them with a set schedule and quick turn around time.

Fun Facts
I'm from Saskatchewan (it's a hard to pronounce place in the middle of Canada). I love to travel, drink wine on my patio with my roommate, and play dodgeball. Yes, like in the Ben Stiller movie (except for with a few rule tweaks). I make it my mission to do something active at least once a day, and I'd love to say it's to work on a bikini bod, but I'm kind of like a puppy, motivated by treats.
I love to read, especially fantasy fiction (still a die-hard Harry Potter fan after all these years.... always) as well as other fiction and professional development books. When inspiration strikes, I'll pull out my easel and paints and go to town on painting my next big piece (ie. a painting to hang in my living room or hallway).
